The Story
To celebrate the Lunar Year of the Goat dated 2015 the Royal Australian Mint is continuing the Lunar Series which started in 2007 with the Pig struck in aluminium bronze silver and gold then in 2012 with a 14 sided 50 cent coin. This year the mint has produced two magnificent Goat designs in 9 different formats.
Packaged in a red envelope and encapsulated on a gold card this aluminium bronze $1 coin features three goats surrounding plum blossoms which symbolise hope prosperity purity and renewal in spring.
