As a pioneering air service QANTAS has opened the world up to Australia. QANTAS staff past and present aviation enthusiasts and coin collectors will all treasure this 1/2oz fine silver proof coin celebrating our pioneering air service.
Founded in western Queensland in 1920 with just two aircraft and three staff QANTAS first served remote communities across inland Australia including delivery of medical aid through the Royal Flying Doctors and providing the Nation with vital services during the Second World War. During he post-war years QANTAS brought new Australians to our shores and allowed many
people to access air travel for the first time.
