20c 2009 Australian Decimal Pattern Silver Carded Proof

Struck by The Perth Mint in 2009 from 99.9% pure silver in proof quality, this exclusive Gold Coast coin show special release portrays an Australian black swan in flight by Andor Meszaros. The design was suggested by the artist in 1966 for the reverse of Australia's new 20 cent decimal coin. Although it wasn't selected, the magnificent design is fondly remembered by many for its appearance on the obverse of Australia's legendary, but unofficial 1967 Swan dollar.
