The Story

The Kingdom of Tonga commemorated the coronation of Taufa' Ahau Tupou IV on 4th July 1967 with the release of the world's first palladium currency.
The edges are inscribed "Historically the First Palladium Coinage".
The denominations are;

  • 1/4 Hau - 16g
  • 1/2 Hau - 32g
  • 1 Hau - 64g

Total weight 112 grams = 3.5 ounces.
