The Splendid Fairy-Wren is the fifth and final coin in Birds of Australia series.

Widely distributed in south-west and inland south-east Australia the Splendid Fairy-wren inhabits dense shrubs and woodlands. Living in small groups this jaunty bird hops and bounces among the undergrowth in search of insects. The coin's reverse portrays a bright blue male Splendid Fairy-Wren in the foreground and a grey-brown female in the background.

The coin is housed encapsulated in a black hinged-lid presentation case accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity and protected by a colourful cardboard shipper.
