The Story

This set represents the annual release by the Royal Australian Mint of proof versions of Australia's circulating coins. The 1997 set consists of six coins:

  • Five Cents
  • Ten Cents
  • Twenty Cents
  • Fifty Cents
  • Charles Kingsford Smith Collector Type One Dollar
  • Two Dollars

A total of 32 543 sets were issued. The six coins were sealed in a see-both-sides hard plastic case presented in a special leatherette protective wallet protected by a colourful presentation box and accompanied by a fold-out information card.
